It appears that Bigfork will be making major changes and additions to their fire service. In the mail-in election that ending last night, 54% of voters appear to have approved the bond issue to build a new Fire Station. And so, construction is expected to begin next year on the new fire station that has been a sign along Hwy 35 and Chapman Hill Road. The facility is expected to cost upwards of $15-million.
In addition, voters appear to have approved a permanent mill levy to hire more firefighters and to increase their compensation packages. Bigfork Fire Department also provides EMS services to the Valley.
