Shock waves are shooting through the non-profit community as news spreads that longtime Samaritan House Exec. Dir. Chris Krager (pictured) has left the organization. Nobody, including Krager himself, is giving even a hint as to why the man, who exemplified the humanity of housing the homeless in our town for nearly a quarter-century, has left the Samaritan House.
We understand the Samaritan House is committed to finishing their nearly $17-million expansion project, irrespective of the funding issues created by Congress earlier this year.
The Samaritan House Board has begun a search for it’s next Executive Director. In the interim, operations are being handled by Associate Directors Billy Greel and Morgan Winchester.
