Our Flathead County Commissioners have received word that we’ll receive a little over $4-million in PILT funds this year. Payments In Lieu of Taxes is compensation for the 2.4-million acres of federal land that would otherwise be paying taxes.
Again this year, Flathead County receives the most of Montana’s PILT money. Missoula, Ravalli, Lewis & Clark, Gallatin and Park Counties also get a share of the State’s PILT $46.5-million allocation.
