As the nation views the results of the flash floods in Kerr County, Texas, we should remember that we in Flathead County aren’t immune from a similar disaster. Many remember the catastrophic floods here in Flathead County in 1964. Although we’ve taken precautions, it could happen here again…would we be better prepared than were the residents along the Guadeloupe River?
We can be, thanks to the County’s Office of Emergency Services and our new Genasys ALERT system. All it takes is a simply sign up and you’ll be notified of any imminent major emergency. To do that, Click Here .
We’ll learn more about the system Monday at 7:20 on Glacier Banks Community Conversations. Our Office of Emergency Services Director, Juanita Nelson, will explain it all.
