Organizers claim millions of people turned out in cities around the U.S. for Saturday’s “No Kings” demonstrations, mixing anti-authoritarian chants with support for immigrant rights.
In Kalispell, an estimated 2,500 gathered in Depot Park with signs, waving to passersby on Main Street. Several speakers addressed the crowd from the stage with messages of patriotism and observance of the Constitution.
About 1,200 gathered at the Flathead County Courthouse and marched on both sides of Main Street joining an already large crowd at Depot Park. Along the way, marchers were told “not to use profanity.” At one point, some trucks with loud pipes taunted the protesters who responded by singing “America the Beautiful.”
Only one incident…a passenger was hit by a car at the intersection of Main and Center Streets. An ambulance took her to Logan Health…her condition hasn’t been disclosed.
