The new, high-tech Logan Health Mammography Bus will be outside the Earl Bennett Building on 1st Avenue West this Thursday.
Flathead City-County Health’s Malia Freeman expects a lot of woman will take advantage of the convenience of getting their annual mammogram on the bus.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which sees a 25% increase in mammograms being administered. The bus is equipped with the latest 3-4 mammography equipment. Most insurers cover the cost of the annual mammogram and women enrolled in Medicare or the Montana Cancer Screening Program.
The Save-A-Sister program at Logan Health makes sure any woman who needs a mammogram can get one.
