Lakeside residents aren’t happy with plans to build a 1,700-acre resort-type subdivision near Blacktail Mountain. The plan for the Flathead Lake Club includes a golf course, restaurants, a spa and fitness center, and 359 homes.
The developers, the Discovery Land Company, told the Planning Commission it would be source of jobs and tax revenue. That, they say, would be worth $22.6 million annually to the community.
Lakeside residents cite traffic congestion, straining water and sewer systems, and storm water run-off into Flathead Lake.
The Planning Commission decided to table the plan until their meeting next month.
