After failing to come to an agreement with their choice for Superintendent, the Whitefish School Board has selected their Director of Curriculum, Lisa Bloom as their Interim Superintendent.
Lisa Bloom comes to the position after 25-years teaching at Muldown Elementary School. 5-years ago, she became the district’s Curriculum Director. She’ll ascent to the Superintendent’s office in with the retirement of Dave Means.
For the second time, the Whitefish School Board has come up empty in their search for a Superintendent. Their offer to Jennifer Fee, now the Assistant Superintendent of the Kent Independent School District in Grand Rapids, Michigan fell-through. Seems her compensation expectations weren’t in line with the Board’s policy.
It’s becoming a familiar song here in NW Montana…the compensation isn’t commensurate with the cost of living.
Board Chair Elizabeth Pitman, in a prepared statement, says the District has been “fully transparent regarding our compensation parameters.”
We’re told the search turned-up 19-applicants, which they narrowed-down to 3, including 2 local schools’ principals.
