People continue to stream into Glacier National Park from all over the world. So far this year, we’re up 12% over last year, attracting 346,437 visitors…and the season is just beginning.
On top of that, last year Glacier set the record for last-season visits, probably because the vehicle reservation period had ended.
Inquiries to Glacier Park Administrators from the Daily Montanan newspaper about staffing levels was responded with a statement that more than 20% of the park’s positions are vacant this year. Our main contact at the Park, Public Information Officer Gina Icenoggle, has been part of the downsizing. Her position, she told the Daily Montanan, would likely be covered by the Interior Department.
