It what will be one of her final accomplishments, Greater Valley Health Center CEO Mary Sterhan presided over the ribbon-cutting ceremony of their new facility at 1935 3rd Avenue East. It’s been a series of accomplishment for Sterhan, whose overseen the development of the healthcare facility from it’s early days in the Earl Bennett Building on 1st Avenue East.
As things stand now, the Community Health Center sees around 4,000-patience, but, with the changes in the healthcare system, that number could reach as high as 10,000. Medicaid is their primary revenue source and with the cuts coming down, there will have to be some changes. Those who don’t qualify for health insurance–whether it’s Medicaid or the Affordable Healthcare Act, can pay using a sliding-scale based on their income.
Mary Sterhan still plans to retire at the end of the year.
