Monday is the Martin Luther King Holiday, so the Kalispell City Council meets in regular session Tuesday night.\First thing up, the confirmation of Police Officers Aaron Westphal, Bob Franklin, Rich Ormiston, Steven Buis, Lucas Suhre and Savahhan Malloy. Police Chief Jordan Venezio assures the Council that these officers have displayed the work ethic, skillset and character to be Kalispell Police Officers.
Next on the agenda is appointment of the Ward 3 City Council Member to replace Mayor Hunter. Those who have applied for the position are:
Madison Evans, an advocate for cancer support, wants to be a part of positive change.
Arthur Fretheim is a certified teacher, working with special education in our Kalispell Schools.
James Haring is a software engineer.
Karlene Khor, who’s worked on the Planning Board and has chaired the Impact Fees Committee
Cassidy Kipp, who is an advocate for affordable housing in Kalispell.
Dustin Leftridge is a local attorney.
All made their presentations at last Monday night’s Work Session. Now, it’s up to the Council. State law requires the position to be filled by the end of the month.
