Flathead Braves star running back, Lex Hilliard, is one of six who’ll be enshrined in the Montana Football Hall Of Fame next Saturday (6/28) in Billings.
After leaving Flathead, Hilliard starred as a running back for the Grizzlies and was later drafted by the Miami Dolphins (pictured above). In his NFL career, he also held key positions for the Minnesota Vikings, the New England Patriots, and finally the New York Jets.
As a Brave, he set the school record with 1,384 rushing yards and scoring 14 touchdowns in his sophomore year. When his time at Flathead was over, he’d rushed for 4,410 all-purpose yards, scoring 44 touchdowns…both school records.
With the Griz in 2005 for Coach Bobby Hauck, he carried the ball 249 times for 1,322 yards scoring 12 touchdowns, averaging 5.3 yards per carry. He added 11 receptions for 144 yards and two more touchdowns. In 2007, he toted the ball 241 times for 1,134 yards and 16 touchdowns, an average of 4.7 yards per carry.
Lex Hilliard is our guest Monday morning at 9:10 on the KGEZ Good Morning Show.
