Logan Health Primary Care providers have voted to become a local of the Union of American Physicians & Dentists. The vote–taken over the past 2-days, was 49-in favor, 28-opposed. We’re told the vote will be certified by the National Labor Relations Board in about a week.
Logan Health Chief Medical Officer Dr. Cory Short responds to the outcome, telling us, “We respect the outcome of this election and the rights of our physicians and APPs to choose whether to be represented. He adds, “Our priority remains supporting our caregivers and staff and continuing to provide safe, high-quality care to the patients and communities we serve.”
Dr Short reassures us that all Primary Care Clinics will continue to operate as the process plays out.
Once the local unit of the Union is established, negotiations will begin in developing a working labor contract.
