What began as a hunting trip with his brothers on opening day of the General Hunting Season, turned into tragedy Friday night when a small plane crashed near Lincoln. We’re told the plane, a single-engine Cirrus, as on final approach to the airstrip near Lincoln when the craft hit a tree about a half-mile away. It burst into flames.
It appears the pilot, who died in the crash, was the only one onboard. He’s been identified–by his wife on social media, as Dan Arrotta (Pictured above). He’s the owner of Arrotta’s Automax & RV and Arrotta’s Mitsubishi in Spokane.
The NTSB has been called-in to investigate.
There are over 10,000 Cirrus single-engine aircraft in service, making Cirrus the 3rd largest aircraft manufacturing company in the world.
