The Kalispell City Council convenes for a Work Session Monday night with one thing on their agenda…a discussion on Alternative Project Delivery Contracts.
City Staff wants to use this system to build-out the Wastewater Treatment Plan’s method of disposing biosolids. Public Works Director Susie Turner wants to expedite the construction of the new biosolids system so that it can be in place by the time the current contract with Glacier Gold expires in the fall of 2026. Glacier Gold now takes the sludge from our wastewater treatment plant–something they’ll discontinue doing shortly.
The system the City wants to use is similar to what the State Department of Transportation uses for our highways…the “Design Bid Build” method. This method allows construction to begin as the design is being worked-out.
Work sessions allow an open discussion between Council Members, City Staff and the citizens of Kalispell. No official actions are taken.
