Volunteers continue collecting signatures to put I-194, officially known as the Transparent Elections Initiative, but dubbed “The Montana Plan”. They’ll need around 30,000-petition signatures before voters will have a chance to decide if Montana will ban dark money in future elections.
Sunday, May 17th, former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg will be in Butte to endorse the plan, which organizers hope can become a blueprint for other states. Buttigieg was a Rhodes Scholar following his graduation from Harvard. He served 2-tours in Afghanistan as an Army officer.
Monday morning at 8:10, we’ll be talking with the man who authored the Transparent Elections Initiative, former Commissioner of Political Practices Jeff Mangan.
