Tuesday night, the Kalispell Planning Commission will hear from 2-organizations who want to convert 116-apartment units into low-income housing. Spread across 3-venues–Kalispell Senior, Westwind Village and Two-Mile Vista Apartments–all on Two Mile Drive.
The groups, Kalispell Investment Group and the nonprofit Beneficial Housing Corporation want to set-aside the units for people making between 50% and 60% of the area median income. To do this, they’ll get subsidies from the USDA’s Section 515 loan program and the Federal 4% Low Income Housing Tax Credit program. They’re also seeking property tax exempt status from the State. They expect it all to cost $65,000 per apartment.
The Public Hearing begins Tuesday night at 6:00 in Council Chambers at City Hall.
