We now have more information on the 2-game suspension of Glacier Wolfpack Coach Grady Bennett, who’ll be starting his 20th season as the school’s winning coach.
Now some back story. It was a formal protest from Bigfork High School that precipitated the MHSA investigation.
Glacier High School issued a statement saying the school doesn’t recruit student-athletes. In this case, the student requested a transfer to participate in one of Glacier’s unique academic programs–not available at Bigfork High School. During that request, the student and parents visited Glacier High School to gather information, which led to contact with school administrators and staff. Once that happened, it put Glacier in technical violation of MHSA rules.
This results in the Coach being held responsible, which means Grady Bennett takes the heat for the infraction with the 2-game suspension. Additionally, the school is assessed a $100-fine.
The Glacier Wolfpack is embarking on the defense of their State Championship, following their 16-3 win over Billings West last year at Legends Stadium.
The games that Grady Bennett will miss include the 2 non-conference games: the rematch with Billings West on August 28th and Bozeman High on September 4th.
