The day after the Primary Election last week, KGEZ 20-20 News reported only a 37.9% voter turn-out, but that was enough to set a new record for a Midterm Primary Election in Montana. Turns out, more than 300,000-people voted, in itself a record.
The Secretary of State’s office released numbers that show that more people are voting, but the percentage of registered voters is declining. This is a trend that continues for Midterm elections and specifically, Primary Elections. The state’s highest voter turnout goes back to 2018, when 41.5% of registered voters turned out.
