Now, we have an opportunity to participate in finding solutions to our housing situation. At their last meeting, the Kalispell City Council created a temporary Housing Study Advisor Committee. Appearing on the KGEZ Good Morning Show, Mayor Ryan Hunter tells us the committee will advise City Staff on gathering input from various segments of the community on solving our housing needs. The study will also consider actions other cities have taken and their outcomes.
The plan is to appoint 7-people from various sectors of our city to draft a request for proposals to develop a housing study. Mayor Hunter explains what he hopes the committee will accomplish. It’s hoped that the City will be able to discover best practices and strategies for increasing affordable housing.
The mayor, with council’s consent, will appoint member to the committee at their regular session Monday, July 6th. Anyone who wishes to be considered should send their information to the Kalispell City Clerk, by clicking here.
