The end of the signature-gathering for I-194, the Montana Plan, is this Friday. It appears that we’ll be voting on whether we want to end dark money in our state this November. Appearing on the KGEZ Good Morning Show, Montana Plan Founder Jeff Mangan (Pictured) tells us they’ve submitted upwards of 50,000-signatures, well above the 30,121 needed. Mangan tells us if I-194 is passed, only individuals will be able to contribute to candidates or issues, and that they will be identified. The process will be totally transparent.
The Montana Chamber of Commerce is strongly opposing the imposition of I-194. They’re instructing people on how they can revoke their signatures. Mangan emphasized that the Chamber, nor any other organization’s members will be blocked from supporting any candidate or measure as a result of the Montana Plan.
