The Flathead County Commissioners have finalized the compensation for elected officials and employees, beginning next Wednesday, the first day of the 2027 Fiscal Year.
Elected Officials will see 2.15% increase, which ties that to all other county employees. The Compensation Board, who made the recommendations, includes all 3-County Commissioners, the County Attorney, the Sheriff, the County Treasurer and the Clerk of Court, along with citizen representative Jim Trevino.
The wage increases come under the authority of State Law, affecting only elected officials. However, the County has historically applied those increases to all County employees. This is being done to keep the compensation levels in line with the current labor market.
County Administrator Pete Melnick wants to make sure we know these pay increases are separate from last year’s Bond approval for the Public Safety Facility.
