In a surprise move, the Columbia Falls City Council has chosen Staci Bloomberg (pictured) as their next Council Member. Surprise, because the plan had been to do that at their next meeting, scheduled for August 3rd.
As their Monday night meeting, the 4-finalists to replace Christopher Semok–who’d resigned last month, participated in their scheduled interviews. About an hour later, the Council decided to make the decision right then and there. And so, each Council Member handed-in their written vote.
Mayor Don Barnhart tells us, “It was close.”
Staci Bloomberg is a licensed attorney who’s a human resource consultant, has been living in Columbia Falls for the better part of a decade. She’s involved in the community and a youth soccer coach with the Flathead Rapids.
Now-Council Member Bloomberg will have to run for her position in the November 2027 general elections.
