Teakettle Heights gets a positive recommendation from the Columbia Falls Planning Commission with a unanimous vote–of those present…2-members were absent. We’ve been hearing about this for months, a massive development created by Mick Ruis, where the Columbia Falls Aluminum Plant once stood.
The plan calls for 125 single-family homes, 56 single-family townhomes and 240 multi-family apartments. Included are open space and parking areas, including a baseball field and soccer field.
On top of all that, Ruis’ plan will make it easier to own one of these homes: 2% down payment and 1% above current-rate mortgages. Homes are expected to run between $550,000 and $600,000.
Columbia Falls City Manager Eric Hanks believes the city has the infrastructure to serve the massive development. The City Council will take up the plan, making a final determination at their June 1st meeting.
