A plea deal sends 58-year old Gary Gene Christianson (pictured) to prison for 30-years for his 2025 Valentines Day shootout at the Glacier Pines RV Park, off Hwy 2 in Evergreen.
The deal gives him a 10-year sentence for each of the 3-Deputies he admits to assaulting. Judge Heidi Ulbrech made the sentences run concurrently, making it highly unlikely Christianson will ever be free.
The melee began with a 9-1-1 caller reporting yelling and screaming and when deputies arrived, they confirmed it all. The man, now known to us as Christianson, was creating the disturbance, with what appeared to be a pistol aimed at someone.
Christianson retreated inside the residence. Deputies, along with Kalispell Police Officers, attempted to establish communications, but the man refused to obey police commands. About 45-minutes later, the man came back out of the residence–yelling at deputies and officers, and began shooting.
That’s when the NW Montana Regional SWAT team was called-in. Christianson then backed-off into the garage, refusing commands to “come out”. It was a K9-unit that went in and brought the man out and placed under arrest.
