Kalispell Police have taken into custody a man suspected of setting fires at Edgerton Elementary and Glacier High Schools. He is 25-year old Dalton Andrew Cogan of Kalispell.
Cogan in the Flathead County Detention Center on $400,000 bail. His next court date is Thursday, August 27th.
The first report of fire happened a little after 1:00 Monday morning at Edgerton School. The second, about an hour later–2:01AM at Glacier High School. Both responses by Police and Fire were the result of fire alarms.
Fires appear to have been intentionally set at both schools, but it’s unclear if the 2-fires are connected. Kalispell Police and fire investigators investigators are working with the District to collect evidence. Police would like to talk with who may have seen anything connected with these 2-fires at either of the schools. Specific details are being withheld as the investigation continues.
