The Democratic Party appears to be purging itself of any acts of impropriety by its candidates and elected officials. Here in Montana, 2nd Congressional candidate Jonathan Windy Boy is expected to withdraw his candidacy today. Allegations of improper text messages send to a teenager have been lodged against Windy Boy. He has not responded publicly to the accusations–aside from dropping out of a race he probably had no chance of winning anyway.
Jonathan Windy Boy, a longtime Native American activist and a State Senator representing Box Elder, was one of 3-democrats running for Congress in the Eastern Montana district. Montana Democratic Party Chair Shannon O’Brien is also pushing Windy Boy to resign his Senate seat. She tells us, “I want it to be clear to all Montanans: Democrat or not, Windy Boy should be investigated and held accountable, as should anyone else with allegations of this nature.
We encourage Montanans to stand with survivors and vote for a different candidate in the June 2 primary.”
