For all the talk about mental health, the needs seem to continually be unmet. In the world of young people, there are barriers that keep popping up. The Center For Restorative Youth Justice, or CRY-J, has begun a pilot program to provide on-site mental health counseling for graduates of the restorative justice and youth empowerment programs.
To launch the program, the Whitefish Community Foundation has awarded a $44,500 Kids Fund grant to CRYJ. Foundation President Alan Davis tells us, “The best mental health support meets young people where they are.” He calls CRYJ a “trusted place where teens feel welcomed, respected and empowered.”
