The FVCC Board of Trustees are working on the contract they’ll offer Dr. Deborah Kish Stephan as their next College President. After 3 rounds of deliberations, they decided she would be the best fit. Once the contract is finalized and accepted by Dr. Stephan, the real work of the transition begins.
The current contract calls for a $250,000 salary, plus a $60,000 housing allowance and a $12,000 vehicle allowance. The initial term is 3 1/2 years, with one year extensions thereafter. That compares with Dr Jane Karas’ salary of just over $260,000.
This comes from a template the College has used for the past 11 years. It has been a quarter-century since the College has changed Presidents. Dr. Jane Karas retires at year’s end.
The Board, on a 4-3 vote, is postponing a final vote on the contract for 10-days. As a back-up, the Board’s second choice is Dr Daniel Czech, the dean of the University of Mississippi’s School of Applied Sciences.
