We’re getting more information from the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office regarding that disturbance last Friday night at a residence in the Glacier Pines RV Park, off Hwy 2 in Evergreen.
57-year old Gary Gene Christianson is initially charged with Assault with a Weapon, Assault on a Peace Officer, and Criminal Child Endangerment in the melee with the NW Montana SWAT Team. He remains in the Flathead County Detention Center with his bail is set at $1-million.
The 9-1-1 caller reported yelling and screaming and when deputies arrived, they confirmed it all with a man creating the disturbance, with what appeared to be a pistol aimed at someone.
The man, now known to us as Christianson, retreated to inside the residence. Deputies, along with Kalispell Police Officers, attempted to establish communications but the man refused to obey police commands. About 45 minutes later, the man came back out of the residence, yelling at deputies and officers, and began shooting.
That’s when the NW Montana Regional SWAT team was called in. Christianson backed off into the garage, refusing commands to “come out.” It was a K9 unit that went in and brought the man out, and he was placed under arrest.
